In a previous article from Decanter.com, Stephen Brook named Alain Brumont the "Hero of Madiran", the most innovative and energetic winemaker in South West France.
We are very pleased to share with you this new article by Yohan Castaing published in Decanter. Com, who came to taste in June 2022, including comments and notes on nine vintages of Montus la Tyre (2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018) and six vintages of Montus Prestige (1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 2000) including the famous 1985 vintage, the first 100% Tannat in the Madiran appellation. This vintage propelled the reputation of Château Montus and Madiran throughout the world.
If one were to sum up the fruit of this tasting, Yohan Castaing comments, "They are classy, age worthy wines".
Antoine Veiry, Alain Brumont's son-in-law and Laurence Brumont's son, also attracts Yohan Castaing's attention with his talent as a winemaker. For several years now, he has been accompanying Alain in the rigour, innovation, research and perfectionism that are major characteristics of the Brumont DNA.
We wish you a pleasant discovery of the article and the comments on Decanter.com.
